Judy Bernotas Lang one of the owners of Grand Detour Islands Retreat is an art educator who will be retiring from teaching IN 2010.  During the transition, the campground will be promoting art education and an environment conducive to the creative process on the campgrounds.  Artists will be able to network and enjoy the natural beauty of the area while enjoying tools which will allow the artists to share their work with the world.  The campgrounds will be scheduling special events which allow artists access to the beauty of the islands and the Rock River Valley while networking with their fellow artists.

artist colony entry(UNDER CONSTRUCTION)

This is a member only website for artists where each artist is given a password and user name and tools which allow them to upload their work to a gallery, and will allow them to give information about their work and contact other members.  The site will have discussion groups and a calendar of events.

GDIR ART GALLERY(UNDER CONSTRUCTION)

This site will allow the public access to the work of participating artists on the internet.  In addition, a physical site for a gallery is being explored and hopefully will be part of the plan within the next five years.
